Anthony Edwards scored 27 points to pull the Minnesota Timberwolves out of their mid-series slump and deliver a flawless 115-70 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, forcing a Game 7 in a roller-coaster Western Conference semifinal series.
The Timberwolves, who had lost two straight games to the Nuggets, regained their defensive tenacity and held the Nuggets to just 30% shooting from the field. Edwards, who had struggled in recent games, was back to his dynamic best, scoring efficiently and showing no signs of the ankle injury that had bothered him earlier in the series.
With the victory, the Timberwolves have given themselves a chance to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004. Game 7 is scheduled for Saturday night in Denver.
